Newly-returned building formerly inhabited by the Grabar Institute blessed and sanctified by clergy of St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church

On Monday, November 21, 2005, the feast of the Synaxis of the Chief of the Heavenly Hosts, Archangel Michael and the Other Heavenly Bodiless Powers: Archangels Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Selaphiel, Jehudiel, Barachiel, and Jeremiel, the newly returned building, formerly inhabited by the Grabar Art Restoration Institute, was blessed by Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Dean and Priest Vadim Leonov, cleric, of St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church. The choir and faithful who prayed at the Divine Liturgy and moleben with the lesser blessing of water participated in this joyous event in the life of the parish. The newly returned building, which was originally the parish winter church, dedicated to the Icon of Christ “Not-made-with-hands”, contained two side chapels – one dedicated to the Holy Hierarch Nicholas of Myra in Lycia and another to St. Alexander Nevsky. The building will temporarily serve as the administrative offices of the parish and Representation, but once necessary funds are obtained, will be turned back into an active temple where Divine Services will be held.
