ORTHODOX CHURCHES TO TELL NATIVITY STORY IN ICONS

DETROIT - The Council of Orthodox Christian Churches of Metropolitan Detroit (COCC) will sponsor "The Story of the Nativity As Told in Icons," a presentation by the Most Rev. Nathaniel, Archbishop of Detroit and the Romanian Episcopate of the Orthodox Church in America, at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4 at St. George Romanian Orthodox Church, 18405 W. Nine Mile Road, Southfield.

The evening's program will include a concert of "Orthodox Nativity Carols and Liturgical Hymns of the Nativity" by the COCC Inter-Orthodox Choir, a sing-
along of familiar western Christmas carols, and a visit by St. Nicholas for children.

The event is free of charge and open to the public.  A freewill offering will be collected.  For further information, contact Janet Damian of the COCC Music
Committee at (313) 706-0666 or damianj@juno.com.

The COCC is a 49-year-old clergy and lay association that represents various canonical Orthodox churches in metropolitan Detroit.  It promotes inter-Orthodox
cooperation, heightens the Orthodox community's awareness of its cultural heritage, and supports the Inter-Orthodox Choir and other Orthodox ministries and charities.
