To
the Editor: Through
your newspaper, I would like to congratulate
Father Paul Costopoulos and the entire community
of the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Birmingham,
Alabama for their decision to donate the entirety
of the proceeds from their churchs annual Greek
festival to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. I
was born and raised in Birmingham and married in
that church in 1954, and all of my relatives live
there. I know how hard that community works to
make their festival a success. This tremendous act
of kindness to help with the recovery of the
victims is a truly wonderful thing, and we should
all learn from it. This is what its all about:
compassion and love for our fellow man no matter
what race, color or creed. Respectfully
submitted, Maria
G. Eugenis
