Boston
– In an enthusiastic show of support for the
ongoing efforts of Hellenic College
and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology,
Boston’s Consul General of Greece, Mr.
Konstantinos Bikas, on behalf of the Government of
Greece, recently presented a donation in the sum
of $31,000 to the school. During a quick ceremony
in the office of the Dean of Hellenic College, the
Consul General designated $16,000 of the amount to
go directly to Holy Cross for the School’s
annual educational trip to Greece for students in
their senior year as well as two scholarships, and
$15,000 to Hellenic College for scholarships.
“To receive this level of support from the
Consul General is a welcome validation of the
wonderful work being done at Hellenic College and
Holy Cross,” stated Rev. Fr. Nicholas C.
Triantafilou, President. Dr. Lily Macrakis, Dean
of Hellenic College, added “We are all proud of
the recognition the Consul General has given us.
Our Classics and Greek language programs have
always been seen as highly valuable by Mr. Bikas.
Since his tenure began in Boston, he has also
supported both Hellenic College and Holy Cross by
attending all school events, both on and off the
campus.”
