Byzantine chant, the Greek Byzantine Choir will
be appearing on both US coasts just after
Thanksgiving:

)
Saturday, November 26, Greek Orthodox Cathedral

Monday, November 28, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox

While the group has visited the US a few times
before, this is the Greek Byzantine Choir's
first tour that includes the West Coast.
The choir's director, Lycourgos Angelopoulos,
was Alexander Lingas's teacher of Byzantine
music when he lived in Athens on a Fulbright
fellowship in 1995.
Even if you aren't able to make it to these
performances, please spread the word to friends
and family who could attend.
Tickets for Portland and Seattle are available
through Cappella Romana's website
http://www.cappellaromana.org;
for Boston, from the Boston Early Music Festival
website,
http://www.bemf.org
.
If you would like more information, contact
either BEMF or Cappella Romana. Cappella
Romana's press release for this event may be
found here:

I hope to see you at these concerts, as well as
at Cappella Romana's opening concerts in
October, in which we'll feature the
stratospheric singing of soprano Patricia
Rozario in "Women in Byzantium."
