Monastery to host Mother Alexandra Memorial Retreat September 24th

ELLWOOD CITY, PA [OCA Communications] — The Orthodox Monastery of the Transfiguration here will sponsor the annual Mother Alexandra Memorial Retreat on Saturday, September 24, 2005.

The retreat will open at 1:30 p.m. with a Memorial for the repose of Mother Alexandra, the monastery's foundress. At 2:00 p.m., a lecture will be given on "Mother Alexandra: Mother, Missionary, Monastic." At 4:00 p.m., retreat participants will have time for a quiet walk on the beautiful monastery grounds or a visit to the gift shop. Following a buffet supper at 5:00 p.m., Great Vespers will be celebrated.
