Adult Education Workshop Answering the Questions:

Why are you an Orthodox Christian?
&
Why have you chosen to remain one?

St. Raphael of Brooklyn Orthodox Church

Presents an Adult Education Workshop

Wed. September 14 & Wed. September 28
Vespers at 6:30 PM
Workshop begins immediately following at 7:30PM

Our parish will hold an Adult Education Workshop immediately following the Daily Vesper Services which begin at 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday evenings, September 14 and 28. These Workshops will begin at approximately 7:30 and will last 30 to 45 minutes per session. The theme of these Adult Education discussions will focus on "Why are you an Orthodox Christian?" and "Why have you chosen to remain one?"

If someone came up to you during Coffee Hour and asked, "Why are you an Orthodox Christian, hopefully, your response wouldn't be, "Because my parents were Orthodox."

Answers like this do nothing for evangelizing our faith and only show your inability to respond properly to this important question.

The benefits you will gain from this class will be to open your minds and hearts to our Holy Orthodox Faith, to make you feel more rooted in your faith, to provide you with information to more easily explain the importance of your faith and to recognize why we have the true fullness of worship and truth in our faith.

Lastly, it is hoped that your participation in this workshop will enable you to articulate why you are an Orthodox Christian, not just in your faith and worship, but rather in your personal identity.

This class will be moderated by Father Deacon Dean Katsilas with the assistance of Fr. Leo, Subdeacons Robert Mitchell and Laike Misikir.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a Bible
