Boston, MA - As the new school year approaches,
Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF) is
positioned to meet the continuing demand to keep
Orthodox young people connected to the Church.
The OCF ministry is looking toward the future,
by adding more hands-on the ministry and
providing new resources to aid our students on
campus.
OCF is pleased to announce the joining of Ms.
Veronica Stavila to the OCF Team. Veronica
enthusiastically joined our full-time ministry
staff to more effectively execute and grow our
National Programs and to become a beacon of
contact for our over 200 local OCFs. Veronica
has achieved a Masters in British Studies and a
Masters of Theology. Veronica has an undeniable
zeal for the Church, as demonstrated by her
involvement in ministry organizations aboard,
including planning conferences and participation
in Syndesmos.
OCF has also developed two new resources to meet
the demands of the ministry: a ground-breaking
resource named, The Connect Kit and talk.ocf.net,
an online discussion forum. The Connect Kit is a
collection of essential resources to provide our
college students with tools necessary to keep
them connected to the church during their time
on campus. The Kit includes a diptych icon, the
New Testament, The Orthodox Way, a prayer book,
OCF water bottle, OCF Program information and
more. Whether a student is heading to the campus
for the first time or returning, The Connect Kit
can be a welcome reminder from their parish or
home that someone is thinking of them. They can
be ordered individually or in volume at the OCF
website, www.ocf.net.
Talk.ocf.net provides a venue for OCFs many
audiences (parents, students, clergy and
supporters) to meet and share ideas, pose
questions and get answers, in a moderated online
discussion board format. Staff and moderators
monitor the forum to provide responses. All are
encouraged to log-on today and reach out at
http://talk.ocf.net.
In sharing his excitement for the expanding team
and new resources, Fr. Timothy Sas, Executive
Director, noted, These are great steps forward
for the OCF ministry. Continuing to meet the
demands of this ministry is vital; Veronica is
highly qualified and brings a welcomed thirst to
serve our young people. The new resources,
especially The Connect Kit, are some of the most
important resources available to our young
people. May God continue to bless the ministry
of OCF.
Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF) is the
official campus ministry effort of the Standing
Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the
Americas (SCOBA). It is a Pan-Orthodox effort,
overseen by an Executive Committee and aided by
a fifteen person Student Advisory Board. The
office is located in Boston, MA, where a full
time staff develops OCF programs and resources.
