Glory to Jesus Christ! We are continuing to present the lectures from the North Texas Orthodox Missions Festival of Orthodox Christianity. Speakers yet to be heard from the festival are Khouriya Maggie Hock, Archbishop Dmitri and Fr. Peter Gillquist. Those lectures will be heard Monday through Thursday at 8pm CT/9pm ET this week. The entire festival is available on CD from North Texas Orthodox Missions at their web site ntom.org. The Friday, Saturday and Sunday lectures on Great Tapes will feature Fr. Jon Braun speaking about baptism. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week we have a special program to present. Its a half hour interview with Fr. Thomas Hopko on the subject of Orthodox missions. Fr. Tom spoke to us about a number of topics including the Orthodox approach to evangelism. The interview is scheduled for Thursday at 7pm CT/8pm ET and repeated on Friday at Noon CT/1pm ET and Saturday at 8am CT/9am ET. If you tried to listen on Wednesday of this past week, you will know we were shut down. A storm passed through Chicago taking out our power. The timing couldnt have been worse as we were out of town and unable to get home to restart the computers. We were 6 hours away from home! That experience convinced us to purchase a battery backup system which we probably should have installed before now. As we work on getting Ancient Faith Radio established, we are very thankful for those of you who have participated financially to help us care for the regular month to month expenses but also for much needed equipment purchases such as the battery backup described above. There are many other needs we have both for equipment but also promotion of the station so that more people will be aware of what is available. Also, as more and more listeners log on to Ancient Faith Radio, our streaming costs go up accordingly. That is a good problem to have but we are counting on the larger audience to share in the expenses even if only in a small way. If everyone receiving this newsletter would give just $25, we would be able to take some huge steps forward in our progress. Thanks again for listening and passing the word about Ancient Faith Radio!
