To Whom it may concern at Orthodox News: I am writing in response to an article recently posted on Tuesday February 8, 2005 written by Theodore Kalmoukos and originally submitted in The National Herald, entitled Burdened by Legal Costs, Archdiocese Owes HCHC $500,000. The instant I saw that the article was authored by Kalmoukos I was instinctively compelled to close the web page. Going against my better inclination I read only to find that it was the same old song that Kalmoukos writes day in and day out. Once again Kalmoukos only finds his stories in bent truths, falsehoods, and scandal. I was disappointed to see this article on a website that titles itself “ORTHODOX News.” Kalmoukos’ reporting is anything but Orthodox. He has a history of blatant heresy and outright disrespect. As a student of Hellenic College and Holy Cross, I can factually report to you that he is seen as a plague against this fine institution and his presence on campus at any time comes as a flea gnawing at our necks. His method of uncovering a story is tantamount to that of a vulturous scavenger that feeds off nothing but negativity and failure. His articles have served to do nothing but divide and infuriate our community, the Greek Archdiocese of America, and the larger Orthodox community as a whole. He has no place calling himself an honest reporter, let alone an Orthodox one. Therefore, we the students of the very school in which he seems to have an eternal grudge against, demand that Orthodox News aid us in boycotting his writing and cease to publish his articles.
