Emerging triumphantly from the Hudson

The old calendarist community of St. Markella's Cathedral in Astoria celebrated Epiphany at Manhattan's Pier 17 on Wednesday, January 19. Young John Zorbas, shown hoisted on his brothers' shoulders, retrieved the cross from the Hudson River's chilly waters. Rev. Dn. Longinos, left, and Metropolitan Pavlos, right, of the Genuine Orthodox Christians of America also participated in the celebration.
