Where to get help

(GREECE) - The hot line “Next to You” has been operating since March 2003 for victims of abuse within the family (800.11.8881 and 210.778.6800) Lines are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.

The General Secretariat for Equality, in cooperation with the municipalities, runs hostel / advisory centers in Athens, Piraeus, Thessaloniki, Patras, Iraklion and Volos. Their addresses and telephone numbers are unlisted, but women who need to get in touch with them can call 210.524.4657.

The Orthodox Church runs the “Stegi,” a shelter for abused women at 6 Lerou Street in Kypseli.
