Department of Internet Ministries Launches “Bulletin Builder”: A Revolutionary Publishing Tool for Parishes

New York—The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Department of Internet Ministries announces the launch of Bulletin Builder, a time-saving digital publishing tool that will revolutionize the way parishes create, edit, and publish their Sunday and Special Service Bulletins. Developed by the Department of Internet Ministries, through the vision and support of Leadership 100, Bulletin Builder enables parishes to communicate with parishioners instantly in print, web, and e-mail formats.

“The resources of modern technology present us with powerful means for communication as we work to build the Body of Christ,” commented His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America. “The valuable tool Bulletin Builder is an excellent example of the utilization of modern technology in a creative way that positively enhances the work, expands the reach, and facilitates the effectiveness of inspired parish ministry.”

“Bulletin Builder is revolutionary,” said Theo Nicolakis, Director of the Archdiocesan Department of Internet Ministries. “It allows parishes to create their bulletins online in as little as 20 minutes; and then, with a single click, parishes can simultaneously publish that bulletin as a printed booklet, a beautiful web site, and a fully formatted graphical email message.

Bulletin Builder empowers parishes and acts as a tremendous time-saver by offering pre-populated content for a parish’s bulletin. Based upon a bulletin’s projected publication date, Bulletin Builder will automatically select and insert the appropriate Epistle and Gospel reading, the Apolytikion and Kontakion hymns of the day, wisdom sayings from the Church Fathers, Archdiocesan news, metropolis news, and parish news. Parishes have complete flexibility to customize their bulletins as well as add local parish events, and messages from their parish priest.

Bulletin Builder also addresses the need for facilitating communications throughout the Archdiocese. It provides the mechanism for parishes to include pastoral messages from His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios as well as their Metropolitan so that the communication between all levels of the Church is achieved as never before. “Timely communication has been the greatest challenge in our parish, metropolis, and Archdiocesan ministries,” remarked Metropolitan Isaiah of Denver. “However, through Bulletin Builder, the Department of Internet Ministries has revolutionized this vital ministry of our holy faith in America. Now, we can communicate instantly and efficiently across all levels in the medium people use most.”
