On Relations Between the Russian Church and the Ukrainian Church

Dear Publisher,

I first would like to thank you for your wonderful web site, it is quite informative.  I do however take offense to the one-sided view when it comes to the Holy Ukrainian Orthodox Church.  This is specifically in response to Metropolitan Kirill's comments on the relations between the Russian Church and the Ukrainian Church.

The days of communist deception have obviously not ceased.  Metropolitan Kirill states that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is in spiritual and canonical unity with the Moscow patriarchate and that we have a common history and common sacred places...

This history he speaks of and the places he speaks of were around long before the rise of Muscovy in 1240.  They are stealing our Ukrainian History, Treasures and Church.  And the saddest part of all is the Ukrainian president is supporting their efforts.  My forefathers were killed and suffered for their beliefs and history will show that the Russian church was involved and is still involved in persecuting true Ukrainian Orthodox Christians.  They ransacked our churches and killed our priests.  We as Ukrainians want nothing to do with the Russian Orthodox patriarchate.  The day will come where the true mother church for all Slavs, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, will take back our Lavras and churches and send the Russians back to Russia.
