Robert Haddad to Deliver Annual Florovsky Lecture

The title of Professor Haddad’s lecture is “The Legacy of Athens in Medieval Greek Christian, Islamic, and Latin Christian Theology.” The Lecture will be delivered on Friday June 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Reading Room of the Archbishop Iakovos Library on the Holy Cross campus.

The following speakers will deliver papers at the conference: Helen Creticos Theodoropoulos, “Patristic Understandings of the Laity and Holiness.” Ann Bezzerides “Teaching Laity: St. John Chrysostom as a Resource for Contemporary Religious Education.” A Gregg Roeber, “Priesthoods and Pieties: Orthodoxy and the Post-Reformation Laos.” Andrew Walsh, “Unintended Consequences: A Preliminary Analysis of the Revolt Against Archbishop Spyridon in the Greek Archdiocese of America, 1997-99.” Patrick Viscuso, “Canonical Perspectives on the Position of the Laity.” John Klentos, “Liturgical Perspectives on the Laity.” A respondent will follow each of the papers.
